Sadly the owner, Mike Maraist, passed away recently. For those of you in the Lafayette, area what do you think happens to the club?

Steadily downhill until they get rid of the GM.

Nothing good. Maraist took a big loss on that club every year. Hard to think his successors will be willing to do the same. Step 1 to revitalizing it will be getting rid of Dawna and making it more member driven

Member at LT here. Course is in great shape. Greens can be slow, but putt well.
Hopefully Dawna leaves at some point.
I like oakbourne too, and play there occasionally. Was supposed to play in the member guest, but I think we missed sign up by a few minutes.
OCC is far more busy, which i prefer that I can practically walk on at LT anytime and play.
And I prefer LT’s practice facilities. I don’t always have time for a round with small kids.
I’m glad we have both courses in town either way.
And I doubt it’s only 98 members.

Member of LT here.
Heard rumor of 109 golfing members currently.
We go through pros like drawers, unfortunately. Thankfully we’ve kept Thomas Wartelle and Popp in the teaching facility.
Just turned and burned two excellent young pros who were super enthusiastic about junior golf, which pissed me off.
I’m a touch scared to post about the GM, I’m afraid she might trace my IP, but ol boy who went scorched earth and deleted was incorrect, she’s tough to deal with and I’ve never heard anyone else say differently in my 6+ years as a member.
OCC looks better every day

Who think the family will sell the club? Looks like a good opportunity.
