I don't know, but it sucks that Scottie can't play since he'll have to make the dumbest court appearance in the history of professional golf...

This is my general point. Not much to separate good shots from bad.
It's why it was a birdie race with a very bunched leaderboard way under par...

No, plenty of difficult courses with zoysia and bentgrass. Most of the greens up north are bent grass.
The low scores were because the course was easy. No contouring on or around the greens. Hazards 40-50 yards into the rough that were hardly in play. Bunkers cut to grade making them very eas...

re: Is Louisiana the worst state for golf?
Posted by icegator337 on 5/14/24 at 5:35 pm
Louisiana is up there with the worst for quality. I would assume it's harder to maintain quality golf courses on muck and clay soils in a river delta.
Outside of the Dakotas, wyoming or Alaska, I'd have a hard time thinking of a state that doesn't have courses better than Squire or CCL. The dep...

[quote]Member owned equity clubs are the only places I like to play. They are usually the best all around experiences.

Everyone is hating on the course, but a bunch of pga tour courses would be $70 on golfnow if they didn't have tour money in maintenance and a brand based on the tour going there. TPC Scottsdale, TPC Louisiana, Memorial, PGA National, and Silverado are hardly great golf courses....

Australia is awesome and in a perfect world it absolutely "deserves" a premier event. It has some of the best golf courses in the world.
But it's smaller in population than Texas. It's premier event might pull a few thousand people more than a small PGA event. Those couple thousand people don'...
