so many companies have just farmed out their deliveries to contractors that don't give a frick.
I don't mind this as much, but I do get annoyed that callin/pickup orders have been farmed out.
I love ordering from native websites.

Do you never travel?
Do you never sit in a restaurant and eat?

These food delivery apps are going to have to adjust this ASAP if they’re looking for long term sustainability.

A lot of tech was supported by investment and over-valuation and is now having to be profitable and it's going to kill a lot of tech.
All the investment is going to AI now

But I have friends that will get stuff delivered 2-3 nights a week, blows my mind.
I have a co-worker who uses it. She ordered a coffee drink and water. She paid $10 and some change.
The business where she ordered from is less than 5 minutes away from our work.

Waitr was a cool name. Asap was dumb as shite. Angie is also dumb for a name change. Angie’s list was alright.

Wait, what does travel have to do with delivery services? That seems like the last situation I’d use them.

Ever missed a flight and got stuck in a shitty ATL or DFW airport hotel? That happens once a year for me and thats when I have used it.

Yeah I'm not talking like vacation.
If I'm in some random city for a night, the odds of me leaving the hotel to go sit down and eat are low.
*ETA: especially if I have to wake up super early

Moved into an apt for the first time in a while and I'm blown away by the shite people order on these apps.
Once saw 2 redbulls delivered from 7/11.
This week saw a single taco bell meal.
How absurdly lazy do you have to be for such an order?

get paying for convenience, but for me, the prices, service and delivery fees are absurd.
We treat ourselves to that convenience maybe once a week.....meanwhile entry level techs in my clinic who are making 15-16/hr get it daily....that I see. I have one tech that will Doordarshan herself fast food breakfast and lunch just about everyday. Wild to me

They had a good run but as they kept increasing the costs it went from an app of convenience to an app of frustration. About a year ago I went to order from the Chinese restaurant restaurant we always get take out from. Restaurant isn’t far but it was pouring down outside that night so decided to order on waitr instead of picking up. Our order that is usually $45 was $100 after tip was factored. I canceled the order and called the restaurant and just picked up. The owner said she tells everyone not to order from Waitr if they can help it. She said they had to list the prices higher on the app because of what Waitr charged them. They soon ended their relationship with the app.

I thought this was going to be about that shitty marble mouth rapper dude.

Could have been a good service for a long time but they got greedy. Order food to be delievered, food total $25. Total after all the fees $45

Many of their delivery peeps looked like addicts.
