There's retired Expos #s up in Nationals Park. The A's are about to be in their 4th city. The colors and team do not belong to Oakland, and the City of Oakland has done nothing to earn the history, colors, and Athletics name from the franchise.

I agree with you about the fact it is the fourth city for the franchise, but I would also say that of those four cities the As are most identifiable with Oakland and the franchise has easily had its most success there.

Plus, I personally think that Las Vegas should rebrand to something specific toward the city. Aces would be the obvious choice if not of the conflict with the WNBA team. I’ve always thought that “Black Jacks” would be a cool name and offer some interesting marketing ideas.
