If Indiana State wins the NIT, is it crazy to say they were robbed of the NCAA tourney???....Do they get to claim a natty like UCF ??

Nope. They get to claim that they won the consolation prize bracket, the one that St. John's chose to sit out of.

They were a better team than about half the field in the NCAA.

Considering NC State was one of the bid thieves, I don’t feel as bad

They probably deserved Virginia’s spot though

They were robbed of the tourney, regardless of whether they won a game in the NIT.

One tournament doesn't have anything to do with the other.

A team winning a BCS bowl doesn't mean they automatically should have deserved to make the playoffs.

Right. As the OP references college football in 2017, Alabama didn’t belong in the college football playoff. They had no case to be in over Auburn that year, who beat them head to head in the last game of the regular season for the SEC West title. And no one argues Auburn should have gotten in.

Nope, no more than whomever won the Pop Tart or the Potato Bowl being deserving of being in the College football playoff.

Winning the NIT would be a big accomplishment for Indiana State. I hope they do win it
