Another great movie that has been lost to history. Starring Sean Connery, Rob Brown, Matt Damon, F Murray Abraham, Anna Paquin and BUSTA RHYMES!
I loved this movie. I think everyone put in a solid performance, and the story was/is pretty damn timeless.
Just reminding folks that it existed.

You’re the man now dawg!
But seriously, GOAT. I’ve watched it so many times over the years. Love the setting & mood of this movie. It’s honestly one of my favorite NYC shot films. Fantastic jazz soundtrack too.

Love the ending when he calls him Irish, purposefully, knowing he’s Scottish to get a rise out of him.

“Jamal did you miss those 2 foul shots on purpose?”
“Not exactly a soup question is it.”
Watched it on youtube before the holidays

The fact that rob brown stood toe to toe with Connery in this movie when he showed up to be cast as an extra is incredible

Held his own with F Murray Abraham too.
The F stands for frick, right?

My favorite part is when his errand guy comes upstairs and Jamal is up there.
Forrester: “We were just having a discussion about German automobile engines. Care to join?”

One of my faves. It gets in rotation on the Starz and Showtime channels a couple times a year.

I like the movie, but Rob Brown is bad at acting

Always thought he did a damn fine job considering he wqs a total nobody ans shared the screen with legit legends and heavyweights.
Even the teen actors were all child stars who been in the business for years. Hell, Anna Paquin had an Oscar when she was like 9.

Along with He Got Game, these are two of the best 'NY is a character in the film' movies of that era. Now, everything is filmed in stale, generic Vancouver or Atlanta.
