Stumbled across this on Twitter this morning and thought it was interesting

This the very last picture of River Phoenix, taken 2 days before his passing:

John Candy on the set of ‘Wagons East’ shortly before passing away from a heart attack in his hotel room in Durango City, Mexico.

Paul Walker leaving a charity event shortly before he lost his life in a car accident.

This photo of Amy Winehouse was taken in London on July 12th, 2011, shortly before she passed away from alcohol poisoning.

Tupac Shakur with his manager Suge Knight shortly before losing his life drive-by on September 13, 1996

The last known image of Bob Ross before his passing

Martin Luther King Jr. was on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN, on April 3rd, 1968, greeting a gathering of supporters. Shortly after this photo was captured, he was fatally shot by James Earl Ray. In this image, King is seen alongside civil rights leaders Hosea Williams, Jesse Jackson, and Ralph Abernathy.

Moments before JFK was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald.

One of the last known photos of Gene Wilder before his passing.

One of the last known photos of Elvis Presley was taken just after midnight on August 16, 1977. Hours later, he passed away from a heart attack at the age of 42.

One of the last photos of Janis Joplin was taken on October 3rd, 1970. She passed away on October 4th at the age of 27.

The final photo of Jimi Hendrix before he passed away the next day.

Photo of Marilyn Monroe with jazz pianist Buddy Greco in August 1962, just days before her passing.

Photo of James Dean hours before his fatal car crash.

Interesting thread.

Disappointed in Marilyn Monroe’s booty in that pic.

Am I the only one who didn’t know Bob Ross was homo? I just thought he was an “eccentric” arty type.

Obviously John Candy was always huge, but goodness gracious he was bigger than usual here.

I wish I could go back in time and kidnap Amy Winehouse and through some miracle make her get better. Isn’t that goofy? I’m not sure why her death saddened me so much. There was something under all that self destructiveness that was undeniable to me.

Passing…passing away…passed away…passed

If you live to old age surrounded by family and peacefully succumb in bed in your sleep, I’d say passed away. If you’re shot in the head, mangled in a car wreck, or overdosed on drugs, you died or were killed, not “passed away”.

We were having a family get together shortly after John Candy died and the adults were discussing how he "ate himself to death" obviously implying that his diet was unhealthy.

One of the little cousins starting freaking out and crying because she thought he literally like, ate himself. It was funny.
