Getting an elite QB on a cheap contract puts you in contender territory with just some decent mid round drafting and FA acquisitions. With the new rookie wage scale every team should be looking at QB early if they don’t have one.

Yes. This is well known. I think there is a very decent chance that none of these 6 guys are elite

To be fair, pretty much everyone missed on Mahomes. Except Reid.

And Payton. In fact Payton ram his mouth so damn much he missed on him

Feels like almost been a decade since someone tried to make fun of me for that, a real throw back going back to the classics.

No it just sounds like hoge tells it like it is instead of doing the cool thing and going along with the media hype.

There's a ton of RPO, which nobody is going to RPO themselves to a Super Bowl in our league. ... You gotta push the ball down the field.

This is a dated take.

30/34 Mahomes completions in the Super Bowl were under 10 yards. Brock Purdy wasn’t firing the ball down the field either.

Tackling is so bad in football at all levels teams don’t need to push the ball deep down the field.

Didn't he hate Josh Allen as well?

Took Allen a few years to come around and he still plays pretty erratic lol. Outside of that KC-Bills playoff shootout, he just hasn’t played well enough to get the Bills over the hump plain and simple

And you have to have this as part of your evaluation: he is fragile. He is not very big. And he’s already displayed that.

This is one thing about Bryce everyone was wrong about at least. Dude got beat up all year behind the worst rated OLine in the NFL and missed maybe one game at the most? Very surprising.

That is an insane bar to grade a QB on

Brady and Burrow are the only QBs to get "over the hump" in the Mahomes era then

Tackling is bad because defenders aren't allowed to tackle without drawing a flag.

Tackling is bad because they don’t have hardly any contract practices so no one practices tackling these days.

I think he has elite arm talent

You keep saying this but I doubt you have any idea whatsoever as to what his arm talent is when compared to other QBs

In other words you just keep saying this without any way of knowing for sure

Why do people cliche QBs to death??

His rant about Johnny Football was dead accurate leading up to the 2014 draft.

That was an easy one, Johnny never beat LSU. Johnny couldn’t throw from the pocket. LSU kept him in the pocket. In the NFL you have to be able to throw from the pocket. Jayden has improved in that department so much more this season.
Jayden is the better QB in comparison with Maye.

Hoge may be one of the worst football analysts I've ever heard, didn't know he was still doing it. His favorite thing to do it seemed to me was to always make sure you knew how much film he watched.

He also ranked Jacob Eason over Herbert, Tua , Hurts, and Love.

He thought Brian Brohm was better than Rodgers.

Everyone is just guessing. So much of it depends on the situation the player is brought into.

This is hilarious. What a false equivalency.

I promise you there is a big difference between you guessing and Hoge guessing.

It was WELL known in NFL circles that Payton was going to draft him.

So much so that KC jumped just ahead of the Saints
