Instagram Reels make me rethink my faith in humanity

If you guys get on IG reels and come across a seemingly innocent reel (kid scoring a goal in basketball, couple showing what they're eating for dinner, etc) check the comments and come back to this thread.
Some are absolutely hilarious with the GIFS but some are downright out of pocket.
Is this the definition of brainrot at its finest?

Kinda bad, but more that something is crazy, out of line, disrespectful, etc.
As best as I can tell, it was used extensively in Orange is the New Black, which then replaced the more traditional meanings basically overnight for very young Millennials and Gen Z.
I never use it that way as an older Millennial, but I'm old now

I think the most vulgar ones are on wisewordsfromneve on IG. She tells incredibly dumb and corny jokes, and the comments are damn near all asking her to do ridiculous things in response.

Still think Instagram’s comment section is worse because of the sheer volume of people from all over the world.
Got lots of arguing between religions, nationalities, numerous political ideologies, ethnicities, and a wide range of autists. Got everything from raging feminists and militant vegans to communists, nazis, pedos, etc. And just plain old miserable trolls from all age ranges not just older people like here
