Why would you assume that?

because they are likely consuming so many calories that they get adequate protein just by eating so much

quote:

Eating "enough" protein is actually pretty hard. Most fatties aren't getting fat because they're loading up on lean meats.

eating "enough" protein while also being in calorie restriction is hard (well not really "hard", just have to have an understanding of what foods are in a good calorie/protein ratio)

I can get 200g of protein with 4k calories pretty easily

One of the unexpected side effects of excessive trolling, accidentally uncovering the truth.

Nice work.

If your 4000 cal diet is mostly sodas and sugary things, I don't think it's as easy as you think.

I'm curious to know how much protein a middle aged, overweight person needs?
.8 to 1 gram per lb of goal body weight is what I’ve seen a lot of doctors/nutritionists recommend

I know enough not to argue on the internet, patients believe they want to hear and ignore what they do not.

Risks of CVA are certainly there, believe or not believe, makes no difference to me

Rapid weight loss of any kind (like bariatric surgery) results in muscle loss if you aren’t doing activities & consuming protein to counter the loss. This is not remotely unique to semaglutide.

Also, a person weighing 300 lbs needs more lean mass to support that size than a person weighing 170. Some muscle loss is logical.

This!

Also, when you lose weight, no matter how, you will notice differences in the face.

They've technically been out since 2005 with Byetta. They are much improved and not without side effects. With the sheer number of people using them for weight loss/maintenance, I'm sure we'll see more reports. Especially considering the sources they are getting the Rx's from aren't likely monitoring or warning for side effects, nutritional deficiencies etc. due to the want of easy money and not putting in the effort for adequate monitoring. Buyer beware. Patients have an obligation to take care of themselves as well and educate themselves on potential side effects, contraindications and interactions.

Like pretty much every medication there will be some side effects. But like most medications the side effects are better than the result of not taking the medication. We don’t live in perfect world and we have to weigh positives and negatives.

I’ve been on it for a year and I’ve lost 100 pounds. Been a life changer for me. Ask me anything? My side effects subsided a few months into it.

It slows down your digestive system. What do you think long term negative side effects will be?

Ive taken semaglutide for about 5 weeks and lost 15 pounds. I am now on my second week of trizeptide and I am down 4 pounds.

Before starting these, I would go to the gym and eat healthily, but my body just cannot lose weight. These two medicines are finally allowing me to lose some weight that I have tried for years to get off. I am only 27, and started these medicines when I weighed around 250. I am only doing this for my own health as my doctor had to do some major convincing. He pretty much told me. Stay around 250 and get diabetes, high blood pressure, and other dangerous medical conditions or lose 20 pounds and most of those will go away. After losing just 20 pounds, I am now off my BP medicine, and my recent lab work showed I am no longer close to being pre-diabetic.

I am sleeping better at night and have more motivation and energy that I haven't had since college. Use these drugs appropriately.
