You know what? Screw it, I blame this entire thing on Johnson.

I don’t give a tupenny frick about talent lost. It’s his fricking job to acquire talent and this is as untalented a fricking baseball team I’ve ever seen.
Can’t hit (his supposed “specialty”)
Can’t pitch (paid out the arse for Yeskie)
Can’t field or run bases.
I question his ability to sustain this program. It’s one thing to take a step back after winning an NC.
It’s a completely separate thing to be so overmatched that you’re getting 10-runned at least once a weekend. Team looks scared shitless and unmotivated.
This whole thing is on him. We’re poorly talented, and we make up for it by being poorly coached.

Calm down mate, he just got to campus. Definitely a heralded prospect but give him some time to figure it out at the collegiate level. And don’t forget he’s a kid by the way.

Johnson is 3x the coach that mainieri was at Paul's best.

Sheesh. At least give him one down season after winning it all. Yeah, it's brutal, but he should be relentless in his efforts to correct it. He can't just acquire everybody every offseason and this Junior class he was left with is abysmal.
Seems incredibly premature to give up on a successful coach after one bad season.

You’re gonna get fried for saying that on here because they love them some Johnson and I think he’s a good coach, but you could be partly right. As I said on here last weekend, I never expected to repeat this year, but to be totally overmatched on a continued basis in the SEC? Theirs no excuse for this. LSU should never be non competitive in baseball, bottom line!

He’s been coaching those juniors since they were freshmen. What? Am I supposed to give him a pass for not being proactive?

Seems like there is almost equal Johnson love and hate. Which is kind of sad.
Again, it was always going to be a brutal season after losing that much. I don't care who the coach is. Just how spoiled are we as a fan base that a newer coach can't have one down season after winning it all and losing so much of his team? CPM left great veterans, but they are gone and his last recruiting class was non existent. I believe that is what should be the makeup of your upperclassmen now.
I'll be right there with you if this happens next season, but it's just not going to happen for me this season. No matter how bad it gets.
