Their forefathers did fine for multiple millennia, living with both Muslims and Christians.
But Zionism, formulated in the late 19th century, has brainwashed many Jews in the last few generations into thinking that their religion can only survive in the state of Israel.
(I do see that side of the argument as well. I can understand why Jews, or any other religion, would like to have a society that allows them to practice freely.)

I guess you’re not aware of the Jewish diaspora, the details of the Arab conquest, or the Crusades? And I guess by “multiple millennia” you mean 1.5?

I’m sure being able to fit several million Jews into the ashtray of a VW has strengthened this belief.
