I think affluent white girls know it's a fad but revel in the social hierarchy opportunities they can get from it. It's another pathway towards destroying the "competition" or just exercising power over both the material and the moral even if it's extremely shallow. Wealthy white women do get bored and find themselves dabbling in stuff like decorating Stanley cups, owning expensive dogs, or opening a cupcake shop (although those speak more towards the suburban women). The LGBTQ stuff is the uber-rich generational wealth global traveler urbanite version of Stanley cups.
They ultimately don't care what damage is done and I have my own theories about the big money behind promoting everything BUT opposite-sex relationships. (Hint: related to climate change and similar to abortion)

Excellent post.
It’s a shame that we encourage women to be even more self indulgent than they are by their nature. I’ve tapped out of listening to women simultaneously crow about the wonders of their therapy while sabotaging their own lives with their behavior. I’ve often thought “ couples therapy “ for instance should consist of sitting quietly in a room , holding hands and looking at each other without speaking . The silence is way more powerful than all the chirping and catchphrases. Of course that’s not in the interest of these ideologies and therapists.

American white women are the most privileged demographic group on the planet (especially if they are attractive).
They are almost guaranteed to meet Maslow's hierarchy of needs so they spend a large part of their time following unnecessary trends.
