I’ll respond.
1.) topics started while the game is 2 innings old are short sighted and ridiculous. OP saying we were getting
“ punked” is just silly. At the time, they had squared 1 ball up and were the beneficiary of several poorly hit balls that drove in runs. This happens and is not indicative of either team playing better or worse. It’s the game.
2.) My use of “ is” is accurate. My subject noun was threads like This. This thread is singular.
