See that’s where I don’t understand people like you.
Why not just not schedule mandatory events on Sundays and we would be having this conversation?
You are taking this personally like you think you weren’t invited to the party.
Sports for kids aren’t “mandatory.” If the parents want to skip church so their kids can play baseball that’s on them.

Lot of powder days recently.
Powder days are gifts from Jesus, who wants you to shred. Makes sense to me.

When you have kids who attend Church with their parents (you know, as a family) every Sunday and then during baseball season they stop attending Church as a family… you don’t think that is an issue - especially when leagues and coaches have 6 other days out of the week to schedule their sports schedules?
It’s a stupid way to get young kids no longer interested in attending Church.
In addition.. when parents are no longer attending Church every Sunday because they are having to haul Braxton over to Dixie county to play a 1 hour ball game - you don’t think that hurts the Church’s financials?

Except they have jobs and school the rest of the week

I guess people back in my days (when it was a no-no to schedule things like this on Sundays) just didn’t work.. had no jobs.. and could walk in their backyards and pick dollar bills off their money tree to live.
Gotcha. Stupid answer

Parents could just say No but they don’t

People don't have to go to church to be religious or prove their faith. There are some people who don't really live the most godly life from Monday - Sunday but goes to church every Sunday.
Of course people have the right to have any views they want and if you think different that's cool, but I think people can teach their kids to be good people without using religion as a reason why. Do you go to a church that's in a certain area where the HS might have been in the playoffs? I think the state championships for softball were this weekend.
With that said, there is a reason a lot of these kids get burned out on softball and baseball when they get to high school. Its non stop. Its HS ball, then its summer travel ball, then fall ball. I have no idea what is trying to be accomplished when playing that much of one sport before these kids even get to HS, but that's a different topic.

OP getting paid by the church... Now it makes sense

haha - NO, I don’t work for the church.
However, I have noticed that they (the church) have been stressing thieves and offerings A LOT more than they have ever stressed it.

No. Why would that matter?? You can worship whatever you want to no matter where you are.

I already said I'm glad we don't have Sunday practice, but there is stuff other days too. You know, like school and things the kids need to do. Sometimes those late Tuesday practices and Wednesday games with young kids are difficult. I mean our league has a team that practices at 5pm on Tuesdays. That's gotta be fun for the parents!!!

I am not getting into this. I know how much plenty of churches and the people who lead them make.

Just so everyone is caught up:
You aren’t mad because your kids have things going on on Sundays that would cause them to miss church. You are mad because other people have chosen to skip church so their kids can play sports.
And the reason you are mad is because you feel like these people aren’t raising their kids right and your church is now asking you for more money.

Plain as day to see that in the next 50 years there will be open persecution of the Christian churches once again, especially in the US and Canada. White liberals outright reject Christianity in favor of anything that opposes it, hence why they're constantly importing third world Muslims and Hindus into areas of this country. Minnesota has been taken over by them - just look at how they're represented in congress. I made a delivery to Detroit Lakes MN and saw nothing but burqas and their ilk walking the streets. Go take a ride across this country and see how many semis are out here with arabic scribbling on the trucks. It's disgusting what some folks 'white guilt' is doing because their descendents are the ones that will have to suffer for it - they're just too smug to see it. Parents who are chasing Braxxtyn and Jaydin travel ball dreams and making Church their second priority will be equally as responsible.
I likely won't be around for it because of all the chemicals that were pumped in my body during chemo, so good luck to all of you who are rolling the dice to think that your kid is going to defy the 0.001% odds of being able to make a living playing sports and will jeopardize their future for it.
Now get off my lawn.

Playing ball is more important to Jace’s and Braxton’s parents than Jesus.
Think about that.
First hand experience: my brother and his family left town this weekend because there was a baseball tournament over the course of the past two days in another city, and spent all last Sunday (starting at 8:00am) at baseball practices in another town. fricking silliness.
