This would be a criminal contempt charge. As such, he would be violating his bail agreements in his other three cases meaning he could be locked up in pre-trial detention. It's risky on his part. Better for him if he doesn't get another violation.

You really believe that commie?

Everyone else in America knows this is a soviet era show trial that Trump wins every day by ignoring that slimy partisan hack. Trump wins even more if he gets thrown in jail.

it is hereby decreed by Judge Demon central casting 666 with effeminate weirdo eyebrows.

I think that if Trump is jailed ...

Turtle, Paul Ryan, & Romney have a meeting with champaign as the RNC announces clause 7dash one niner fjb-117(a) that no person shall be the nominee for President if they have been put in jail.

He is so eaten up with TDS that he cannot help himself. Just like the disrespectful leftist DC bitch who described Trump’s candidacy as “a day job.”

There's not a whole lot more they can do to prove this is a persecution not a prosecution, but jailing Trump would be one of those things.

I would gladly contribute a hundred bucks to a go fund me account . Targeted at hiring legal staff investigating Merchan, his wife and daughter for Ricco violations of election law, of course this would be done in a red state jurisdiction.

I doubt he’ll do it. Logistics would be difficult, and if he does it he will have to answer to all the wackos when Trump wins in a landslide.

Yeah but would anyone be on trial for this that isn't Trump. Special trials deserve special exceptions.
If you belive this is not political and truly about justice I have a bridge to sell you.

Merchan would be giving Trump EXACTLY what he wants. If this is not political ( it is) then throwing him in jail only increases both Trump's poll numbers and increases the perception that this is all about politics. He would do better to let Trump run off at the mouth.

And this his why you don’t prosecute a politician on frivolous charges, and double down by muzzling him.

Merchan can put this on Trump - but he and Bragg opened the door.

specifically did Trump say that caused this ruling? What was the substance of the contempt

Bragg wanted four violations, but the judge only fined him for the interview with Real American Voice. AP is reporting that the comment was

quote:

”The jury was picked so fast. 95 percent Democrats. The area’s mostly all Democrat,” he is quoted as saying.
AP
That seems pretty benign

To be locked up until the Atlanta trial or, even worse, until the Supremes decide on immunity in the other two cases would pretty much end any campaigning he could do until the election.

There would be no need to do further campaigning if that happened. Unlimited, free tv time and huge voter motivation.

Trump isn’t going to be “locked up”. No one has figured out a way to put him in the pokey when he has to be accompanied anywhere he goes by a Secret Service entourage.

What's hilarious here, is that so many of his supporters WANT him thrown in jail or at least want him to be found in contempt of the gag order so that the judge officially dresses him down in open court.

They absolutely want to maintain or even increase the victim status.

Certainly there are som in this thread, but is this a widely held belief? I don’t think anything good comes from the admonishments or any criminal contempt proceedings. I understand and could agree with orders dealing with Threats but most of these violations appear to either be rebuttals to press releases by others (at worst). The latest was just a concern about a fair trial, which seems to be an overly broad restraint
