I have had to replace two ACs at houses I have owned (replaced the unit that was there when I moved in) and went Trane both times. I know the gentleman who did the installs and services my unit. Honest and very fairly priced.

In my mind there were only three options:

1- Lennox
2- Carrier
3- Trane

Trane would have been my first choice but it would have cost $3,000 more than Lennox. Kind of like choosing Michelin tires over Bridgestone I guess.

They are like cars.

one lasts for ten years

the next one off the line barely makes it to warranty.

I always spec'd Trane.I had no idea how to size them or draw the ductwork. Had a friend take that all on himself provided I spec'd him .....He bid everything based on the computer print out.

When I last priced it, it was just the opposite.
