From the Terrorist Al-Jazeera: In the US South, pro-Palestinians face crackdown on campus.

Nevertheless, a good read!
"Pro-Palestinian protests have spread acros the US. In New Orleans, they have faced crackdowns both on and off campus"
I was not aware of this:

A lawyer who was acting as a liaison between the Tulane protesters and police said law enforcement “could have de-escalated, but they chose riot gear”. The liaison, who asked not to be identified to prevent retaliation, has acted as a legal observer at dozens of protests over various issues in Louisiana but said, “Everything about this one was different.” The aggression displayed by “the police was like nothing I’ve seen at any protests before”, the liaison added. “It was a militarisation.”

On April 30, for example, Gillet was notified that he had been suspended from Tulane along with seven other students and evicted from his student housing due to his involvement in the encampment, pending a hearing. He said most of the students he had organised the protests with were on needs-based scholarships. He also has a scholarship, and his suspension may force him to leave school.
I was not aware of this:

A pair of bills working their way through the Louisiana State Legislature, 70 percent of whose seats are held by conservative Republicans, would give motorists the right to run over protesters blocking roads if drivers feel they are in danger. Another would make it a crime to be within 25ft (7.6 metres) of a working officer.

You don't have to the to restrict my movement.
No more than I have the right to lock you in a closet..
Blocking roads is False Imprisonment.
It's a felony..
Needs to be treated as such.

The part about those who block roads has my approval.

A lawmaker and former police officer is behind a bill that would make it a misdemeanor crime in Louisiana for anyone to approach within 25 feet of a cop while they are “engaged in law enforcement duties.”

Al jazeera isn't terrorist...
Hell it's been a few years since I watched the news, but five years ago they were among the least biased of all.
They'd report facts, no matter how messed up, and let everyone draw their own conclusions.

Well most of em ain’t doing shite so someone needs to define working. Anything they do is wrong so they just stand there. Not being within 25 feet of them is the legislature saying “keep your hands to yourself children”

Would you like me to do math for you?
The average lane is 12ft wide. The average interstate is 2 lanes wide. When writing a ticket on the right shoulder, all motorists would be breaking the law.

It’s almost like the more conservative the leadership is in your state, the less likely these “protests” are to get out of control.

The South is retaking this country

Dems are mandating auto-braking in new cars starting in a few years. Let's not be naive to think that this came up on the pros side of the list. "They can't run over protesters in the road if their car brakes for them"

It should be a constitutional right to cheer on a terror state, beat Jews into submission, and firebomb private businesses. That’s all they ask.

That’s fine but the cops could, you know, enforce current law and drag those filthy frickers off the roads in the first place

The innocence we’ve seen when roads are block is why people feel if my car is stopped and the crowd turns on me, I can escape even if it means running over someone. There’s plenty of videos where people in cars are attacked.
