I can't possibly see how steroids would give golfers an advantage, besides maybe a low dose of test for recovery. The more muscle mass, the more difficult it will be to swing a club.

People were hitting Balatas well into the 90s.
Yesterday, Rory hit a 8 iron into a green 240 yards out.

Wait, what???? An 8 iron 240?? That had to have been a misread thing. Jesus there's no way.

Some of those guys are suspiciously yoked up.
maybe compared to what average pro golfers looked like 30 years ago.

They don't play every week or even half the weeks out of the year. Those guys also work out even when they're traveling to play tournaments.

Practically everyone was taking Metaprolol at one time or another.

On the first hole, the announcers were creaming in their pants at Rory's distance because of the ridiculous line he took off the tee (it's pretty insane). They went on for a good while about his distance, like the always do, and talked about Xander needing to stay focused and not let Rory always outdriving him get in the way of his gameplan.
They're saying all this, meanwhile Xander is hitting a 7 from 210 and went over the green
These guys are great, obviously, but the clubs and/or ball technology has gotten out of hand.

not the case, more muscle mass the more momentum potential you have to hit it further
but in the end, muscle doesnt help if you cant hit accurately but combined with strength absolutely gets you better club head speed
with all that said, if anyone on the tour was using anything it would be Test, GH and peptides to help recovery and stay healthy. much bigger deal for those guys and would help them maintain the strength they build in the off season.
but ill be honest, aint too many of them look close to as big as tiger was during his prime. and honestly i dont care what they use, I watch for entertainment, same with all sports....i wanna see 400 yard drives and 500' homeruns. let them use whatever they want....i want to be entertained.

I honestly think people thought Tiger looked bigger because he was the first golfer to really work out like an athlete. So looking at golfers on Sunday, you have a guy with a dad bod playing with a guy with muscles. Tiger was 6'1" 185 in his prime. That's not exactly huge. If you put prime Tiger next to an NFL corner back, he wouldn't have looked as shredded as them
There are plenty of guys on tour now who are every bit as jacked as Tiger was in his prime.
Hell, here is a cover of Tiger on Vanity Fair. I mean, would you look at that picture, not knowing he is a gofler, and think holy shite that guy is huge?

Tiger in his prime looked like this
Yeh, real roid guy

They should all be on roids. Tiger paved the way
Posted on 5/13/24 at 12:20 pm to Deactived
Tiger was at his peak before gaining size. If you want to equate his size gain to roids then the opposite lesson should be learned….
His prime was when he was still wirey. His injuries and slow unraveling mounted as his size gained
This is the peak. 4 majors in a row. No injuries. Size 28 waist, skinny neck, flexible power

Tiger is obviously juicing, among other things.

It's not that hard for plenty of guys to be fit in their 20s, 30s when their job is to practice golf, workout with a trainer and have all the funds in the World to eat right.

Another thing. Tigers distance adavanthae was the most it’s been in 1997 at the masters. He was embarrassingly long compared to the field that year
He looked like this
Tigers addiction to working out helped wreck his career. I would love to know what the ball speed 1997 tiger could have created with todays equipment

you don't want to look like the fat strong man at the gym but cleans, squats, deadlifts translate to golf and i bet the majority of the tour has a routine these days
I bet lifting was not nearly as common pre-Tiger as it is now. Bryson, Rahm, Brooks, etc are pretty big guys.
