Like most every fisherman out there, I love to catch fish on topwater. When I retire and hopefully do some more traveling I would like to go after some of the hardest hitting species for topwater action I can find as I travel the world.

Giant Trevally looks like the best I’ve seen on video. Maybe peacock bass 2nd?

Best I have had is some inshore south Louisiana stuff like redfish and Jack Crevalle.

Whatcha got?

Jack Crevalle was the best I’ve seen in person. Fishing the marsh North of Grand Isle. Buddy sight casts at what he thought was some bull redfish cruising by at the edge of our casting range. Well he realizes mid cast that it was a pack of jack crevalle. After the lure lands he starts reeling in as fast as he possibly can as he didn’t have nearly heavy enough gear to handle one. It looked like a submarine launched a torpedo at our boat. Jack grabbed his bait about 10-15 ft away from the boat and promptly spooled him.

Any?

ETA: I love seeing a trout taking a dry fly off the surface.

Bream hitting a popping bug is spectacular to me.
Redfish busting a plug
Etc

Snook.. by far.
Think of a 20 pound bass busting it up.
Jacks are for ruining a lure quickly. Fun as hell to catch but you might as well release him with your lure hanging off his lips cause it's no good for anything when he get's done with it...

Choupique

I was fishing a tournament a few years back in a small canal and had another boat fishing the opposite bank. A giant choupique smoked my frog when the other boat was about even with mine. The look on those guys faces was priceless, like they were about to just give up
Then they realized it wasn’t a bass lol

I love catching bass on top water, but I would like to go to Florida and catch snakeheads on top water also.

Billfish in the spread knocking teasers and baits will make a dead man take notice.

Bluegill on a popping bug is as good though....all about perspective.
