It’s not just game 3’s. LSU ranks 13 out of 14 in total runs scored in SEC play. They just aren’t a great offensive team.

Exactly and to further the point. It’s the pitching that falls off on Sunday which highlights the offensive struggles

That’s the most frustrating thing about this team. They are just not getting timely hitting. How much is randomness that comes from a small sample size and how much is mental is a question that can’t be answered, but this team is 6th in league play in OPS and should have scored about 1 run more per game with those stats. That might only have moved their expected win total up to 13-14, but they’d be in a much better position to make the tournament.

Some of it boils down to a lot of young guys trying to adjust to SEC caliber pitching. Larson, Milam, Brown, Frey, etc., combined with Kling, Bingham and Neal not really being consistent, reliable options on offense and you get the struggles they are facing now. I believe Larson will be really good, he shows a better awareness, approach and batting skills to get on base than the other young guys.
