No thanks. I’ll pay a little more to avoid the toxins in their cheap plastic goods, the phthalates in shoes and formaldehyde in a baby clothes.

No, ma'am, you will pay a little more for the same cheap plastic shite that has the same phthalates and formaldehyde in it because it is all made in the same chinese factories. The only difference is packaging and how much you pay.

What were people expecting?

It’s cheap products.

It’s not gonna be fancy sophisticated logistics

It’s unreal how much of our USPS mail volume is TEMU. Wrapped with this cheap, thin plastic wrapping that looks like it was mauled by a bear. And every day there are a couple of packages that have contents sticking out of the wrapping because they are to cheap to box it or even package it properly.

Better packaging runs the overhead up. Something breaks or goes missing from an order? Just notify them and they'll refund you or send you another one and refund you. $1.89 is nothing in the grand scheme of the operation.

One can compare Chinese vs European manufacturing of high end model trains.

First vid is Chyna. Second Europe.

*The dude narrating the Chyna vid is an annoying as frick prog Canuck.

Youtube Link

Euro much more organized, automated and clean.

The China factory they just throw out some folding tables for them to work at.

*Both are interesting if you want to see how things like the molds are made. All done with EDM (electrical discharge machining) versus CNC.

It’s the TEMU dock that does shirt orders.

I bet you all buy expensive chinese plastic shite, though. And I bet it is made of similar plastic in the same chinese factories.

What if I told you that those workers were convicted felons and that’s the only job that they will ever have, maybe this company is giving them a second chance in life

And that's why shite from Chyna is so cheap. Buncha Chinese baws without shirts making 3.50 an hour just to send it on down the line.

The alternative is machines.

This is an opportunity.

I really avoid plastic shite whenever possible. Partly bc I know it’s made of the backs of cheap labor but also bc it’s unhealthy as hell. I’m also super conscious about where our clothes are made for the same reasons. When I learned about what was in those products I tried to eliminate them from our home as much as I could. Most of it is just unneeded junk anyway.

Nothing. This isn't some grand revelation. I'd imagine all warehouses, no matter the end destination look similar.
