Can't get a work permit with a student visa. So if government believes she's been getting paid to hoop, then she's violating her student visa and Trump will boot her arse out

Can she get a job and make money as a student athlete? Isn’t this the same thing?

Googling it and it's a bit tricky. Since they are on a student visa, the ways they can earn money are very limited and are meant to be so that someone coming to school in the US can only work a bare minimum job on-campus. Basically a student worker job at the most. Anything else is a violation of their visa. This only pertains to US based businesses. Poa would be able to earn income from countries outside the US, and that would be tricky too.
There aren't a ton of NIL heavy hitters that are international students so it would make sense why there isn't a big push for it at Congress.

Oscar Tshiebwe was making millions at Kentucky a few years ago and having to collect when they went to the islands for tournaments. If anybody cared about men's college basketball anymore his case would've been a huge story.

I think that should be changed for college athletes. They're only going to get market value way, I suppose there could be abuse, but, women college atheletes..... there won't be much.

It’s not crazy at all. Student visas have very specific rules for everyone regarding work/income. Has nothing specifically to do with athletes.
