Yep, that alien spacecraft crap better have some explanation. Some people I know that watch this, like I recommended to them, said wtf? I played up the first season so much, and now I'm embarrassed because of that shite. And yes, the "UFO" has been a part to this season to more than just this shooting scene. I hope they didn't blemish what has so far been two great season's stories - but they just might lose a substantial amount of viewers for next season if they don't wrap the UFO crap with a nice little bow...

It's based on "true" events during that time. It fits into the story.

Danson definitely has ESP or something of the like.
As the hotel guard was being knifed Danson snapped striaght up in bed and started getting ready.
And for not missing a shot immediately after killing the mother, the Indian missed five in a row on Solverson and Ed and Peggy.

yeah i cringed when i saw the UFO, why would they ruin an episode like that?
also, when he was shooting at Dodd, he fired 4 times at point blank range, did he miss all of them?
90% of this episode was pure brilliant, the other 10% was major jump the shark worthy

I'm good. I don't get embarrassed by TV shows.
Just telling you why it was in there. The producer of the show have his reason. It was a good reason. Fits the story well.

Aliens dont fit the story well right now. They have to make it make sense or theyve screwed an otherwise incredible show

Anyone else ever consider that Lou is a terrible father? His wife is dying and he leaves her and his young daughter at home every day to go put himself in the middle of a war between some of the most sadistic people imaginable. And it's not like he's just doing his job. He's got a chip on his shoulder and is looking for a fight as much as anyone.

why the backlash against UFOs? I mean people saw them all the time back then and one of the most credible encounters of all time happened at the same time within a few hundred miles of Sioux Falls.

No sir, you are gullible. He and everyone else who said "true" used quotation marks. Meaning It's "true" in the framework of the show.
Do people not get that we are getting a narrative from the past? We are being told a story from the survivors point of view.
