The 2 young detectives staking out the lakes trying to find the killer is the most ridiculous thing I've seen recently.

You never know, maybe the killer still lives in the same area 18 years later and is going to see that flier on the pole and tear it down.

Yea, in the middle of the night.

In my gut, i believe it DTL. His DNA was not found; however, he didnt leave his DNA on everyone he killed. He is suspected in many other killings. He is Satan. After what he did to those poor innocent girls, he needs to be executed. I hope they solve it regardless. I know these detectives personally, and they are both good at their job. I believe in them.

Pretty sad that it took so long to catch the guy. He's mentally challenged. Don't know if it had to do with profiling being off.

I couldn't make it 10 minutes into the 2nd episode. The slow-mo shot of the detectives walking in the rain did it for me. Just so stupid.

It absolutely had to do with the profiling being off. The guy had priors that showed the pattern of escalation to serial killing (peeping tom, etc). But they were too focused on white dudes in white trucks.

This is exactly what I've been told by people around the Lakes at that time. Supposedly one of the victims told police the morning of her own murder that there was a man leering (possibly masturbating) in her driveway and the operator tried to placate her by saying they were looking for a white man (and the guy in her driveway was black). Have never heard that story validated by authorities, but it's been told by multiple people in that area with no connection to each other. Strange.

Yeah, pretty sure they were stopping a lot of guys in white trucks to get swabs from them. Even people who were physically incapable of doing the damage to those women like Lee did (i.e. Small guys that would have maybe lost the fight against the women considering the struggle many of them put up). Nor did the white truck really have to match the type/size of the truck reported to be stopped or whatever.
Wasted a lot of time on that, should have listed to the Zachary people.

After sitting across a small table in Parish Prison from DTL for several hours when he was under trial, I think I've had enough serial killer exposure.

Why were you sitting across from DTL?
Reading about DTL and the murders is still creepy.

I administered one of the cognitive evals he was given. Only case I can actually discuss as everything was talked about in open court.

They messed up the investigation but there's no way someone living around the lakes at that time called the cops to report that and they told her to not worry because it wasn't a white guy.

Yes, his IQ is in the mildly retarded range
Yes, I'm glad he'll still be executed.
While he kept talking up his innocence during the eval, this was during the sentencing phase and he was known to be guilty. At the conclusion of the eval I shook his hand and said, "I hope you get what you deserve." He thanked me, having no clue I was wishing him a painful death.
