BTW, I will be traveling to campus at the Univ of Iowa this weekend.

Anyone want me to perform some lobbying with Ferentz? Stay? Go? Oh the humanity!

You are certainly right about that, I did walk it? And not to sound like a wise arse, I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time, but I walked it the day after I walked the Augusta National. I had the good fortune of playing it also. Never again, but it certainly was the thrill of a lifetime back then. And yes, I know Mr. Thompson, I have also seen his boat the "CatCanDo"; great piece of machinery. He and the Boye family (who owns the Caterpillar delarship in South Louisiana) are both big bill fisherman; and both named their boats with a Caterpillar connatation. The Boyce's boat was the "SeaCat". Incidentally, I always enjoyed that legendary story about Hall Thompson throwing a golffer off of the course at Shoal Creek for throwing a cigarette butt on one of the greens. But the banker;s name was a Jack something or another. Very nice person.....

Hey, you get what you pay for. My Dad was from North Louisiana (north of Vivian) a good ole "redneck" and my mom was from Houma, a fine "coonass" lady. I am a "red arse" so what do you expect, my english is all confused!

No there sure aren't! They both passed away in the last two years; my dad in Janaury of '06 and my mom in March of this year. They were both great Tiger fans. This will be somewhat of a "non dry eye" Christmas! But, as the Good Lord does, he gave me my first grandson in January of this year and another one is on the way. So he does replace older Tigers with brand new ones!

I hope Miles stays also. Not only do I think he is a good coach, two HC changes in three years is definitely not good for recruiting. We wouldn't be in this mess if I was running the show because I would have hired Mark Richt away from FSU the year we hired Saban.

My condolences. My mom passed when I was 16 ('97) and my biological dad this past February. My stepdad and grandparents pretty much raised me.

Amen to that! Since I moved to Georgia I've converted my girlfriend (now fiancee) to a Tiger. She never had a real affiliation, but when she realized I wasn't very pleasant to be around when My Tigers lost, she quickly jumped on board. Can't wait to have a couple little Tigers of my own.

Thanks for the kindness! You better believe there is already a ton on Tiger gear under the tree that will be put up this weekend for him. As a matter of fact we are "babysitting" him. I gave my son and daugheter-in-law my four tickets to the SECCG and they are taking my niece and her husband (a Tenneesee grad) to the game.

Incidientally, we have something in common. I lived in Atlanta for 10 years, and while there I met my fiancee' who I turned into my wife. She was from Overland Park, Kansas and a Kansas State grad who didn't know a damn thing about football. We cured that real fast! (LOL)

I just can't get my head around Saban's being willing to return. Not wanting to mind you but actually being willing to. He's been ripped limb from limb from all quarters outside of Tuscaloosa for being an inveterate mercenary and this would only introduce a new round. Do we even want a coach that not only bolted just three years ago but who will be an eternal target for the entire world?

You people are retarded. You think that LSU has a program good enough that every coach in the country is gonna come running to be your next HC. Del Rio, Saban, Gruden, Spurrier, & Rodriguez are all waiting by the phone for a call from LSU. Please. And you call bama fans delusional.

Another tiger here in GA and I too lost my father in Feb. 06. It was such a hard time as we were best friends. He was a BIG Georgia fan and we watched the SECCG together in Dec. 05 so he got the last laugh in there. We had lunch together on 2/14/06 and he passed on 2/16/06. Weird how God makes things happen, but he is in better place. I always talk to my dad about the Dawgs and my Tigers throughout the year b/c that's what we would always do!

I also am expecting a little Tiger anyday now. My wife has been converted from a seminole to a LSU fan b/c of me and she now owns more LSU gear than FSU gear. I tease everybody that our boy is going to come out and slide right into the "purple and gold" football uniform of LSU!

Small world, I am from Tallulah and still have family there. Good place to be from, but I couldn't move back.
