You remind me of the idiots that lost a car plant in my city about 25 years ago.
They wanted 20 years of no taxes on the land and plant, dumb asses voted no, plant goes to another state 3500 employees at average 35 bucks an hour lost because you know it isn't fair.
If your city had the lowest property taxes in the state, then do you believe that some or most of those jobs would have been replaced by other companies moving in? BTW good for the people in your town for standing on principle. My town let on of the largest companies in the state rape them with tax incentives while me and my fellow small business owners pay some of the highest property taxes in the state.

A simple link to your assertion that they reneged, you claimed it back it with facts.

I would assume so. However, it matters not 10 years from now when the incentives run dry. The remaining jobs will be moved. I dont agree with many things Obama has said in the past but I do agree with him that these jobs can not ultimately be saved.

So yo think every time a major corporation threatens to ship jobs overseas they should get a $7 million tax break?
We should ALWAYS assume businesses will go overseas, and create an environment where that doesn't happen. NOT by punisging those that do, but by creating a business friendly environment. We should not only be cutting all corporate tax, but regulation bullshite as well. We should be making an environment that steals businesses from overseas.

You are yammering about local property taxes as American businesses are burdened by the third highest corporate tax rates in the world. Noone is particularly worried about factories moving from Texas to Alabama at the moment. We are worried about Monterrey and Tianjin.

He should have negotiated a deal that kept more than 800 of 2100 jobs in the USA. Period. If he tried and failed then he should have gone to the Carrier workers and told them the truth. He tried and he saved some jobs but most will still be unemployed.
To go to the Carrier workers and celebrate this deal as s victory when 60% of workers' jobs are still going to Mexico is disgusting.

Why? Different cities have different advantages and disadvantages to companies.
I oppose government using tax incentives to prop up one company at the expense of other, usually smaller, companies.

Saving some of the jobs, but not all is disgusting?
You must be nauseated by Obama.

So you don't see any scenario where small comapanies would benefit from a large company being in the area? Please tell me how it would hurt a manufacturer to have a larger manufacturer come in close by. Be specific.

You as a consumer are the ones paying taxes. No matter how you cut it, it's all passed down. It's economics. Jesus, the public education now sucks

I'm sure he means manufacturers that also sell retail. Like a trailer fab shop or even a concrete plant.

Pence says the company discussed its frustration with a "rising tide of red tape coming out of Washington D.C." and that more than 50 new rules affecting the heating and air conditioning industry have been created over the last two years.
So the environment turned for the worse so they gave the dough back, what's the problem?

I don't think they are getting much tax incentive to move their business but I dunno.
