If a young Elvis dropped out of the sky today would he become a superstar?

Just a thought exercise. He never existed before and appeared on the scene today performing modern music.

He would be a superstar in today's culture if he was able to master auto tune and didn't know how to play an instrument.

He would be nothing special just like the Beatles and Nirvana

So if a young Elvis was in the music biz today but he didn't do Elvis type stuff? Wtf kind of question is that?

Assuming he survived the fall? He'd be a superstar in that people would think he's an alien or a god after falling from the sky

wouldn't he be something similar to a white bruno mars?

Absolutely Yes. Elvis is a once in a generation talent and he could make it in any era. It would actually be easier for Elvis in this day of social media. And he would also have the most followers FB or Instagram has ever seen. Double that of the leader today whomever it is. Elvis changed music and captivated the world. Elvis fans were white, black, hispanic, etc. He was the freaking KING.

im always wondering about stuff like this. I think The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Beach Boys are timeless. They would be huge today.
Elvis was of his time more than those. I could see him being big. But his style, while great, would be too old school. And I love Elvis.

Would the old Elvis and his influence on modern music still exist?

Boy if you thought people went after Elvis for stealing black blues songs back then, what do you think would happen in 2017? We'd have protest groups designed just for standing up for black musicians being robbed by southern white boys.

Elvis was far more talented than Bieber could imagine.

I'm not saying I like Bieber's music better than Elvis but he does play more instruments and is more involved in the song writing process.
IMO Elvis has a better voice, is more charismatic, etc.
But there are different ways to judge talent. This comment is just interesting to me since a lot of posters here bash modern pop stars for many things that Elvis is guilty of.

Elvis knew music and could play. He was the first. He could perform in every genre of music.
Though I know Bieber has some talent, he whisper sings and his songs are largely not memorable.

Elvis played rhythm guitar, man. He was a perfectly fine guitarist but let's not act like he was a whiz. I don't even value instrument proficiency that much but I don't think the fact that he plays the guitar is an argument for his greatness.
Bieber can play the drums/guitar, maybe more?
Again, I'm not saying Bieber's music is better. Elvis is great and he was a superstar.

no shite lol. People saying he'd be even biggr today don't understand how this works. No, he would not. He came out at the perfect time.

Elvis played piano. If you listen to the outtakes, you'd have an appreciate of his musical knowledge. I've already touched on his eclectic vocal abilities.
This really is a Tom Brady vs Kirk Cousins (maybe) conversation.

If you don't sign your soul to Disney, have $3-$5 million ready to invest, or have a friend in the music biz, your odds of "making it" to superstar status today is essentially zero irrespective of talent. The music industry isn't a competition any more, it is a collusion. There are literally less than 12 companies who control ALL entertainment and distribution in this country including how you access the internet, your cable provider, tv channels, streaming websites, radio stations, record labels, movie producers, etc. the ladder has been pulled up in an insular industry too risk averse to gamble on talent, which instead results to straight up brainwashing via repeated regurgitation of the same crap ad nauseum ad infinitum.
