I did that D-4=3 easy peasy in 1977.
2 years later I did Parris Island as a Marine recruit. That shite was ruff, even though I was in good shape.

Umm. Ok. Congrats? Not sure what the expected response is supposed to be. You went from “the weather” to “how easy Leonard Wood was” to “how ruff Paris Island was” to what “ good shape you were in”. All good Marine.... I was just trying to say my arse was cold back in the day. You win, I guess.

Last “polar vortex” got to - 65 here. When I walked outside I couldn’t even tell if it was cold, all I felt was pain.

Was back home in Michigan last year for a week which happened to be during the polar vortex... perfect time to come home

Was cold enough to do this boiling water trick, of course I did it a few times. Had not done it in years.

Boiling water instantly freezes

Coldest was 4 degrees in Minneapolis. I walked outside in a short sleeve shirt for a minute to see how it felt. It stung my skin!

Once told my wife I’d be home by midnight. I got home at 4 am. That’s definitely the coldest temperature I’ve ever encountered.

0 in Sapporo Japan during their annual ice festival. Everything is frozen solid. Sidewalks, roads it was frozen. Not a good idea to wear cowboy boots out on the town drinking. Must of fell down 5 times.

I have spent my entire lifetime living in the south (Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia). While I have visited plenty of places, that's usually not during the cold months.

The coldest I have endured is probably 6 or 7 degrees i believe. I was completely miserable at that temperature. I couldn't imagine what Ill do the day I see temperatures go in the negatives.

Yeah, I didn't do very well on my response there, I've been taking some pain pills for a back problem and had a couple shots of whiskey too.
When I was at Ft. Leonard Wood, It was some strange weather. We would be in T shirts on Sunday, and wake up with a foot or more of snow on Monday, but you know, they had issued us some pretty good cold weather gear, so it didn't seem that bad to me.

The heat and humidity at P.I. seemed almost unbearable to me. I made it through but I damn it was hard. I would sure rather do it in the winter next time.
