Question.
What do they need these laptops for?

has HISD not already communicated to teachers, parents, and students that almost without exception all kids are going to pass the grade they were in?

That’s an insignificant expenditure compared to the millions wasted in failed attempts to educate them already.

Texas school districts have the money to do this. Poor ole Louisiana can cry and be jealous all they want. The La politicians don't care about their crying.

New Orleans school district did this earlier in the week. Surprised we didn't get this same thread complaining about it then.

LOL. I bet they’re new, in the box. You don’t know much about how government programs work, do you?

It’s interesting that you think having a computer is more important than a smartphone,

Did I ever say that? I specifically said top of the line smart phones which run in excess of $800, significantly more expensive than a decent laptop.

They dont have cable TV ?

Yes, because 70 inch TVs are in every home.

Laptops are cheap, significantly cheaper than cellphones. I fail to see why this is difficult for you to understand.

You can buy a laptop that can last 4 years or more that does everything they need for $350.

Are you saying that's way too expensive for even poorer American families?

I don't know about everyone in this thread but the LSU fan's motto is:
IF YOU AINT CRYIN, YOU AINT TRYIN!!!

Even if it means crying about shite that has absolutely NOTHING to do with them. MoFo's can cry about anything at anytime. They are very good at living up to their motto.

Real world intuition tells me most of these schools are glorified daycares and propaganda centers masquerading as institutes of learning. The laptops are probably worth more than whatever "education" these kids are receiving. It's harsh but it's the truth.

Well the alternative is the students falling all the way to LA student levels.

This has been happening in public schools in Louisiana for years to no ill effect. If you actually cared your jimmys should have been rustled a while ago.

That is mean man. Like nightmare causing mean.

It would take a hell of a long time for it to happen but it is still scary to even think about. And I wasn't going to drink today.

Yeah...it's almost like the district doesn't lock them down such that they can only access the sites they want them to.

Because we know, just like you do that >50% of these laptops will never be used/returned.

You can’t honestly believe that over half of the school issued laptops, which parents themselves have to go pickup at the school, are going to never be used or disappear.

They didn’t just open a van full of laptops at a corner store and hand them out the kids walking around
