777 is just swinging his peen around because he went through 85mph winds.

frick no....777 knows they dont hand out trophies for that shite and I liek my AC.

I didnt stay for Rita, IKe, or Laura...frick all that. Worst I have done katrina in BR.

and that was my point. I wanted people to realize hurricane force winds are worse than you realize. Gustav was a bad arse storm, but was only TS winds when it got to BR, same with Andrew. True Cat 1 or 2 winds would wreck BR and surrounding areas.

I was just fricking around to pass time too.

I missed the 1st portion of the flight... but of the current readings I do see... so far the highest SFMR reading is 65 its (75 mph)... and that was flagged so potentially erroneous

is that the really high mark so far for winds so far in this flight?

I rode out Andrew in Houma, Gustav in BR and I think Isaac in Houma

Rough spots, but it’s unlikely you experienced sustained hurricane winds in any of those storms in those spots. Andrew was your best bet, but still unlikely. Berwick has a sustained wind of 96 mph, for reference.

If anyone is interested, Governor Sloth is supposed to have a press conference at 3:30.

He's announcing that they've knitted a gigantic mask to make Delta wear before it comes ashore.

and the NHC seriously still needs to do away with the center line

if you're in the cone... NHC believes you're under threat

way too many people concern themselves with the center line only

I bet less than 50 posters on the site had actually experienced sustained hurricane force winds.

I been through several hurricanes including but not limited to Katrina, Elena, Juan and Lili but probably others

Never saw anything close to what I saw in Katrina. Pine trees snapping like toothpicks, twisted trunks and pulled up by their roots. Actually feared for my life in that one.

he was in Cancun last night/this morning

I imagine he's now packing up and trying to get back to the Gulf coast in time for the US landfall

I stood in the hurricane wind machine at Wonder Works in Pigeon Forge. Does that count?

We might have to count you to get over the 50 person hump. For now, you’re in. Coupled with the guy who found a way to be in Thibodaux for Betsy and New Orleans for Camille, that’s two of you.

How long does it make it “sustained”?

10min? 60min? 2 hours?
