I don't. Never had cancer either, but I know it sucks.

If they would have egged your house, I would have told the parents. This game, no I don’t think so. The fact thats it’s the 2nd time is a little concerning, but I wouldn’t tell the parents yet.

Any recommendations about caliber? Of course, you can't go wrong with .30-06, but I'm wondering if something smaller might suffice for this particular shooting. Ammo shortage and all...

Should tell the parents. Ringing door bells at 3:30am at any age is bad. Hell 16 year olds shouldn't be out at 3:30 unless it's Prom Night and then only making out at an officially sanctioned prom party at some other parent's house.

But this reminds of the incident in Baton Rouge in 1992 when a poor Japanese exchange student was shot because of a mix-up about a Halloween Party and ringing door bells and running into an open garage. Horrible mix-up.

If you recall the woman at home freaked out because of the door bell ringing and the kids acting all Halloweenie trying to scare them and the first thing the woman told her husband was to get the gun.

Different circumstances but close enough.

Guess you missed the part where a 10yr old is outside running around at 3:30am.
Better to be proactive and tell the parents before their child gets hurt then reactive and tell them you knew but we're trying to be " cool " after the kid is hurt or worse.

My Dad raised me right and also had supersonic hearing. If I even thought about leaving the house while he was sleeping, he would have made sure I never did that again. I never tried because I actually respected my parents.

I remembered that well. It happened across the street from Central High School and the media was there every day for a month. Local media, then national media, then international media from Japan.it was a big deal.

Short lived. Even at a young age, future nurses didn't play well with me.

I would only tell the parents because they were doing it at 3:30am. I wouldn’t care if the kids were playing games like that in the afternoon, but I’d be pissed if kids rang my doorbell at 3:30am for anything but an emergency. Plus its dangerous as hell for the kids because its a good way to get themselves shot if they ring the wrong person’s bell at that hour

Nah. You just have to say, "with all due respect" first.
