Grumbles, a new facility overlooking the water in port Aransas looked great from the outside, but on entry, the ordering system was no different than a Burger King . Stand in line to order, pay the bill prior to food/service, fill your own paper cup, grab napkins/fork/catchup and go find an empty place. The po-boy was $17.99 plus tax. When processing the ticket on my credit card, she respectively showed me where to select either 20-25% tip. I respectively declined.
The po-boy was 6 oysters on a hot dog bun. The oysters were premanfactuered, frozen, label is likely Boudreaux's from China, buy them online for 10$/3 dozen, no charge for the two large pieces of shell.
Po-boy, fried shrimp plate, a margarita, 10 once beer was 68 $ and still they wanted a tip that I refused to pay.
We sure do miss south louisana's seafood

I don't eat poboys outside the state of louisiana. Anytime i've tried i just end up getting pissed off.

What’s the tip supposed to be for?
Did they bring it to you, or yell at you come get it like every place in Baton Rouge?

I love people complaining about the cost of stuff yet they continue to pay it
Pack yourself a sandwich you could make for $1

What did you know about this place before placing an order? Were the prices not displayed? If I figure out that I am about to pay $68 for two poboys, a beer and margarita.. I am going somewhere else where I can get something better for the same price.

Did they actually serve you? Or just hand you your food like Burger King?

That's why I almost always have fruit, veggies and peanut butter and bread when we go places.

The place I get po-boys from. For two whole poboys, order of onion rings, two drinks is between $22-25 depending on the type of poboy we get. And the half is enough for so I can make another meal from it.

How dare you say something negative about the promised land of Texas. Rapture and locusts headed your way imminently

Port Aransas has lost its fricking mind over the last few years. My folks have a place there, so i've been going there my whole life. I spent about ten days there this past summer. Quality dining is practically non-existent on the island. Add to that the five thousand golf carts clogging everything up, and there's really no reason to go to town at all if you can help it. I stayed at the condo / beach practically the whole time minus two trips to NAS in Corpus to get groceries at the commissary.

Looks like a straight up large restaurant to me, not some dump. Reading the description of your po boy doesn't list a hotdog bun, either. But keep up the exaggeration.

When we established our menu, there was one thing we were driven to focus on: serving quality food. One of our promises, is that if it doesn’t live in the Gulf of Mexico, then we do not serve it!

My boss grew up in New Orleans. He approves of this place in Atlanta:
the Po Boy Shop
I do too. I've had the debris, cheeseburger, shrimp, and grill grouper and all were as good as the best I have had on the coast or in Louisiana.

have you been to Port A recently? i havent been to this specific restaurant, but his description is 100% on brand with the hundred different new restaurants that have popped up on the island since Harvey. i just went and read some online reviews of this place and they line up with what he's saying.
the only place worth eating out on the island is San Juan mexican restaurant on Cutoff.
