Akira Sushi Hibachi Metairie- All you can eat lunch

Took a group here today and for $16 it’s all you can eat at lunch. I legit ate over $60 worth of sushi for lunch and the other guys put a hurting on that menu as well. Everything tasted great other than the fact i ordered way too much but had to eat it all for fear of the penalty fee. No clue how this place can stay in profit with this special especially since at night it bumps to $22 and includes the hibachi and sashimi.
here were my 5 rolls and also had miso soup, edamame, squid salad, crab rangoon, and some ice cream
rolls I ordered: Cajun Roll, Playboy Roll, Sashimi Roll, Snow White Roll, & Volcano Roll

Yep. Been a couple times and enjoyed it. Worth the $22.

I’ve been to Akira many times prior to the all you can eat and I know the food is good. That picture does not look appetizing. Was the deal that they had to put it all on one plate?

i guess that was the only way to keep track of 9 separate orders and over 25 rolls . the sides were each brought out of other dishes but yea we had one plate for the rolls

Cheap farmed fish, lots of cream cheese mayo and tempura flakes, and from the looks of it rotten cucumbers. Your entire party probably ate like 20 bucks worth of food total

That plate of sushi looks pretty rough. Living dangerously is fun though.

It’s a good deal if you eat a lot and the sushi is decent but I personally would just rather eat better sushi in Metairie (Kanno, Daiwa, Shogun)

I eat there all the time because my kids devour sushi. May not look pretty but is tasty. Better places may make it more fancy but I am not paying for fancy when I go to Akira. The variety for the price satisfies everyone. If I am by myself I go to Kanno or little Tokyo but need to try Daiwa.

Met the wife for lunch in metry and it was just As good.
Plus the benefit of not going to the westbank was pricless.
Now if i could only find a hibachi in madisonville Mandeville area that would be grand
