Was given a bottle today.

Any opinions on it? Mix suggestions?

It's honey whiskey

It's not good whiskey, sorority girls would love it mixed with diet coke

Without really knowing anything about it my assumption would be that its mediocre whiskey thats sweetened and has some honey flavors. As for mixing (don't think I would drink this one straight) go with whatever you normally do, provided honey, or at least "honey flavoring" would work with it. Dont add any simple syrup or other sweetener as the distiller already did that for you.

Haven’t tried Sting but have been drinking the regular American Honey for years. It’s my go-to sipping drink. I like it straight. For the ladies, mix it with Butterscotch Schnapps. And Wild Turkey’s is far better than every other honey bourbon I’ve tried.

It's probably ok for sipping.

If you're not a straight alcohol kind of guy, make yourself an Old Fashioned but skip the sugar cube/simple syrup.

If you/your wife like sweeter drinks, make a bee's knees:
2 ounces honey whiskey
1 ounce lemon juice
1 teaspoon honey

Add all ingredients to a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass. If you don't have a shaker, use a metal water bottle.

It’s very easy to make honey whisky. I used to do it all the time.
Buy a honeycomb. (they sell em at farmers markets, fancy grocery stores)
Cut up the honeycomb and put it in a mason jar. Add a fifth of whisky. Let it sit for a week.
Mix it up with an immersion blender. Let it sit for another week. (I’m sure if you’re in a rush you could shorten the time by several days, this is just what a bartender at Juban’s told me)
Strain the whisky through cheesecloth.
Enjoy.

I've never had the honey sting.

I keep a bottle of the Wild Turkey American Honey on hand for one reason. Whenever I get a cold with a sore throat, a quick swig out of that bottle is great.

It's good for a hot toddy. Getting to be that time of year, too.
