Headed to Asheville in mid July and looking for a brewery to eat at and drink a few beers. Any suggestions?

Wicked Weed. Maybe others can chime in, but I've never had much as far as food goes from the other breweries.

Sierra Nevada has good food, but is a bit of a trek away. As far as the downtown joints, yea i'd agree probably Wicked Weed. White Labs was pretty good too.

Wicked Weed has probably the best food. The Funkatorium has pretty good food too. White Labs is a close 2nd. Burial has some great burgers...

Zillicoah has excellent beer and a good food trailer. They are located along the French Broad so you can drink your beer, and eat on picnic tables by the water. It's in North Asheville.
Hillman has great beer, cool location, and i've heard has excellent burgers. Didn't eat there, though.
Burial Forestry Camp - it's more of a restaurant but some of the best food i've ever eaten.

Man I haven't been in about 9 months. Unfortunately the account I had that took me to Asheville several times a year for the last decade + closed up shop. But my main rotation for great food when I stopped going was Curate, Chai Pani, Limones, The Admiral, Red Stag, Bull & Beggar.

Agree it was awesome. They turned it in to some dumb chicken sandwich place. It may actually be good. But when they took the whole hog, mussels and whatnot off the menu I never went back.

The Buxton Hall space is now the big over the top Chai Pani. That's the place I was thinking about hitting up. I hadn't been to the original Chai Pani, though.
I love Curate, but was not real impressed with the Admiral. Don't know anything about the other places you listed. Will look them up.

Yeah, the mussels cooked under the whole hog, with its drippings, was the best dish I ever had in Asheville. We went back and they told us it was off the menu. My wife made me get up and leave.

It's not super impressive to me either. But it is good and consistent. When I had to entertain my clients from Haywood county they insisted on it. I ate there a lot

There are a lot of good places in Asheville but not a whole lot of really good places. Curate is the star imo.

I was more than half drunk and not really all that hungry, so it didn't bother me any.
She's the one who specifically wanted to go get THAT DISH again.

Think the only time I went to Buxton Hall was the day or day after the original chef left. It was fine but was wondering why the vibe was off. Found out later.
Che Pani I don’t get. Put me in the camp of people who don’t understand how that would ever be considered a best restaurant in America. Boring bland food and service that can’t be bothered. No thanks.

On the casual end of the spectrum, I really enjoyed the pizza (and beer) at Asheville Brewing. Went to the downtown-south slope location.

I've had some good meals and fun times at Jargon which is in West Asheville I think.

As far as breweries with food go, I’d vote for White Labs.
I agree with the poster about Chai Pani. It was good, but I didn’t think the food was better than the Indian restaurants off Coursey in BR.
