Checking my son in college on Saturday and have some other folks we are meeting from TX, what’s the best places to eat, preferred Local… Elsie’s Plate and Pie is pretty freaking good… something like that.

Unpopular opinion here: Burgersmith has some damn good burgers and fries at a very reasonable price. And they have a very good chili cheese dog if you like that kind of food (I do sometimes). And surprisingly, they have excellent salads too. Also, they have great happy hour drink specials. Half off everything I think

If you’re willing to pay, Louisiana Lagnappe is probably the best food in town. I also love Elsie’s.

If you’re wanting to check knuckles, there’s an establishment on Burbank calling your name.

Rouj Creole is good, but you’d need a reservation.

Louisiana Lagnappe

Always a good meal. Only downside are the long wait times and crowds.

One that’s not frequently mentioned.. Frankie’s Dawg House near the overpass

Went the other day, got a damn good hotdog with bacon and mac n cheese on top. Side of chili cheese tots, 2 corn dogs. Totaled up less than $20.

It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for a satisfying yet unhealthy meal.

You can do so much better. Ruth’s is good but you can get that anywhere. Check out Gino’s, Mansurs, French Market Bistro, or Jubans (for drinks, wouldn’t eat there)
