What would you rate your top 5 restaurants in the area?

Clancy's
Patois
Lilette
Le Petite Grocery
Vizard's

I have to add Gautreau's and Brigtsens to any such uptown list. But you can't argue with any of these.

Uptown has so many great restaurants that you almost have to go by what you're looking for, and what specific area we are talking about.
Because "Uptown" has a very loose definition to a lot of people. Does the Carrollton Area count? Riverbend? Garden District? Some people I know refer to all of that as "Uptown".
I do not want to just to a straight top 5, but if I must my list, and this is strictly based on places I've been to, would be:
Atchafalaya
Gautreau's
Patois
Brigsten's
Commander's Palace (if you count that as uptown)
I've never been to Clancy's which everyone raves about. I also eat more at places like Magasin.

Top five is tough. Even a top 10 would be tough.

I would replace Petite Grocery and Vizards with those two.

I don't understand the point of this thread. Care to expound?

Here is my routine:
Monday: Joey Ks and Sucre
Tuesday: Kyoto or Sushi Brothers
Wednesday: Slice
Thursday: G&Bs Patio Grill
Friday: nicer place
Saturday: Juans Flying Burrito
Sunday: Tracey's and cold beer
My wife doesn't cook.

That's a pretty "meh" list/routine. But still better than virtually anywhere else in the country
I'd add Maya's and Baru into your routine instead of Juan's (which I like just fine). Maybe Rumhouse for a cheaper option.
Throw in Magasin for Vietnamese. Mahoney's or Guy's for a Po-Boy. Bouligny Tavern for wine, cocktails and small plates with the wife.
Coquette for the $20 3 course lunch and cocktails.
And that is a solid life you're living.

I would add rum house to your 2 week rotation

We frequent all of those places too. Mayas is my go to local spot nobody knows about.

Wow. I dislike all but one of those places.

Interesting take on the thread though, rather than just the same ole boring top 5 list.

Not an OT baller, but I live on the 3000 block of Magazine. I guarantee we have eaten at every uptown restaurant; however, my income doesn't allow me to eat at the likes of Coquette, Dick and Jenny's, Clancy's, Atchafalaya, etc...daily. Plus a majority of my bills are alcohol costs. A wine at coquette alone will be 10-14 dollars.
My list is simply joints one can eat at regularly which is cheaper-easier than cooking for two adults at home.

If I lived Uptown I would probably eat at Magasin more than it would be healthy to do so.

It is a GREAT place. Great, great Mojitos and drinks, very good food.

Fun Bunch, last time I went I had a mojito and some special ribeye with a great sauce based on blue cheese. Best dinner I had in a long time.

Which one?
Friday: nicer place

Had Tracey's RB for the first time a few weeks back. It was pretty good. Was hoping for better I guess.
Not a fan of their roast beef. Or any of their poboys for that matter. Think it has more to do with them being overpriced and me not liking the atmosphere in there though. Just wouldn't go out of my way to get one.
I'll run down your list right quick because I'm in an opinionated mood today.
Monday: Joey Ks and Sucre - Joey Ks puts out very mediocre food. They don't understand how to season things properly. Sucre is overpriced nonsense.
Tuesday: Kyoto or Sushi Brothers - I don't like sushi.
Wednesday: Slice - Not bad at all. Would rather one of the pizza places in Metairie though.
Thursday: G&Bs Patio Grill - Burger is VERY overrated.
Friday: nicer place - I'm with ya!
Saturday: Juans Flying Burrito - Eh. Blackened redfish tacos are the only thing I like there.
Sunday: Tracey's and cold beer - already discussed this.

Rohan - what burger do you recommend uptown? I am waiting for Smash and Charcoal to open.
Joey K's - white beans, fried pork chop and fish bowl of abita is one of my favorite homestyle meals in the city.
We prefer Juan's over Tacquerina, and we live right next door to rum house - and frequent it too.
Plum Crazy just opened and will likely replace Sucre for my dessert stop some nights.
