They just opened this place. I went by the other day. It was very good. For Texas, it was very, very good.
The Best Stop Cajun Market - Katy, TX
806 Katy Fort Bend Rd Unit 400, Katy, TX 77493
On the North side of I-10, frontage road.
Get the Chicken Crackling! I’ve used the Sausage and Andouille for my Gumbo. While in Tx, this is the only place I’ll use.
These are the same folks from Scott, La.
They are doing a ton of business. The folks have caught on. I’ve used sausage, Tasso and Andouille. The boudin is good also. Get the Chicken Crackling’s, not the best, but the best in Texas.

Have been 2X and they're printing $$$ and having a hard time keep their shelves stocked.
Tried their smoked boudin. In-family with Billy's and Kartchners IMO. Picked up some smoked sausage but haven't eaten it yet.
Glad they're here.

The other day I went, they had just received a truck in from Scott, La. Taking time to unload. A mixture of folks. Many from La., some were bring items to Dallas. Less than 30 minutes from my house. Worth the drive.

It is great to have them in the Houston area. The way Kartchner's seems to be expanding, I wouldn't be surprised to see them venture out towards Houston as well. They probably need to get that Crowley location built and running first, though.
I would say for anyone in SW Houston burb area who may not have time to head all the way up to Katy, the boudin made at Bayou Boys in Needville is every bit as good as Best Stop, in my unprofessional opinion. The owner is from Lafourche Parish and knows what he's doing.

They are opening a location in New Braunfels as well. It looks like they started building it last March, so I assume it will open this year?

I had a feeling this was coming when they built that production notches a few years ago and started supplying grocery stores.
But if they have a stire cooking hit boudin and cracklins, that’s great. Wish they had then when I lived in Katy. First couple of years I lived there it was hard to find Blue Plate. Now LA cuisine is all over the place there.
