Does it taste different the last few years compared to what it was previously?

Seems a tad bit thinner IMO but I've had long Covid from not wearing a mask one day when we went hiking in the everglades in July so it might just be me.

That shite in a carton is garbage. Make your own eggnog, it's worth it.

This ^ recipe is for a “cooked” nog. Do yourself a huge favor and use Alton Brown’s Aged Eggnog recipe. You will achieve a far superior result. I’ve been using his recipe about 10 years now, it’s great. I make mine on New Years Day for the next year.

I can’t answer your question. and I typically dislike when anyone comments “just make your own.” It’s not helpful. At all.

Buy a quart of Kleinpeter egg nog. Buy a quart of Kleinpeter chocolate milk. Mix both together, drink large glass and lay on the couch with a smile and the sugar.

I can’t decide if this sounds amazing or if it sounds disgusting.

I bought some from Walmart in Brusly today, it definitely tasted off. It didn't taste as seasoned (spices). I just bought some at the same location a little over a month ago that tasted the same as I've been used to for decades. I'm a Kleinpeter milk fan but their egg nog is bland as hell. Borden always tasted like the egg nog my gramps used to make. When I was old enough to spike (alcohol), it tasted EXACTLY like his. That's when I realized he gave me spiked nog...lol

If you have a Costco close by I'd give their "Sarah Farms Eggnog" a try. The wife (no pics) and I finally got to our new Costco, and I saw this brand and figured "why not?" It is pretty damn good! Makes a great cocktail, and also mixes with coffee well. We were Bordon Eggnog fans for the quick fix, but I believe we'll stay with the Costco Eggnog after hearing this.

So I'm just looking this recipe up and a little weirded out by raw egg even if you get pasteurized eggs. Does the alcohol do anything to possible foodborne illnesses or is this more of a "frick it this is delicious" type of drink?

Yes. Go check out the masculine virility in the other thread. We're drinking raw eggs that are 2 years old.
