I usually just do 2 sacks but the place we picked up from gave us a big arse 50# sack when we only orders 35#.

I think it will fit, unfortunately in my experience the heavier the sack weight is the smaller the crawfish are, hope you got some nice ones and my theory is wrong

Yes

People generally use too much water when they boil. Cut back on the water

Likely depends on whether your basket has that capacity.

Absolutely. I boiled a 40 lb. sack yesterday in an 80 qt. pot, so you'll have room to spare. Just fill the pot a shade past 1/2 full and then start seasoning your water.

Do they have sacks that can hold 50 lbs? I've never seen such a thing.

I think you'll be able to fit them all in but may not have much room for corn / potatoes and other stuff.

Yes you can. Just need to adjust your water and especially your seasoning. Might need to add a bit more seasoning.

Yes, easily, just make sure you adjust your boil mix.

Will qualify this by saying I'm not that old...but back in the day most people had 80 qt pots and most sacks were at least 40lbs + plus some extra. Many times I had sacks that were 45 lbs +. I rarely had an issue getting a sack that large + full fixings in a 80 qt put, in fact I still use an 80 most of the time.

100qt should be able to do more than 50lb without fixins. Just fill half way.

Few years ago I went to a boil at a friends house. He got 3 sacks, each one probably around 30-33 lbs, and wanted to do 3 batches in a 100 qt pot, but didn't plan well and started way too late. He then stupidly just did one sack in the first batch. A few of us suggested he boil most of the fixing first, then do one last big batch, he reluctantly agreed.

Long story short, we got 60+ lbs of crawfish and the frozen corn in a 100 qt, and it wasn't that hard, just had to start with way less water, but season it super heavy.

Its always easier to add more water and more seasoning than removing water before it spills over while you are lowering the basket.

Some farmers have started going with a longer sack

quite positive, do it all the time. it fills it up pretty good, but 2 sacks is no problem in a 100 quart. i would say 64-67 pounds would be more on the average.
