I'm guessing 10 lbs with the other items will be very safe...just a guess.

I'm guessing 6 pounds would be plenty, but they are cheap, so cook 8-10 to be safe.

It would be great if y'all would post your recipes and ingredients for white beans for large crowds in the recipe thread. Could help someone else.

A pound of dry beans will provide 10 x 1/2 cups of cooked beans.

For every pound of dry beans...... I use, I small onion diced, 1/2 pound meat, 1/4 cup Crisco, salt and pepper to taste. I dont do anything more than that because I like to taste beans when I eat beans. My Pawpaw was a cook in the Navy and in the oilfield, thats his recipe.

What type of meat did you use?

My Paw Paw typically used salt meat....... good salt meat is getting harder and harder to find so now i use pickled pork.

Used to use salt meat all the time.

Ham shanks, quite often. Hocks, sometimes. Bacon grease with sausage browned in it. I vary.

I like to keep my white beans white so I dont brown anything.
