I know in some states it’s against the law to have leftover bacon but has anyone tried to freeze leftover bacon to thaw out and use at a later date?

Like fully cooked bacon? Yes you can freeze it. They even sell frozen fully cooked bacon and some food services places even use the fully cooked bacon.

If it’s just a pack of uncooked bacon you can freeze that as well. I probably wouldn’t have a pack of uncooked open on the fridge for a week and then decide to freeze the leftovers. But you would still probably be fine even if you did that.

I freeze uncooked bacon. Roll up each slice, put on a plate or cookie sheet to freeze, then put the frozen bacon in a freezer bag. Take out what I need the night before to defrost in fridge.

I've frozen cooked bacon too (I'll bake an entire package in the oven then freeze the cooked slices and take out when I need). But I tend to freeze uncooked more often.

Yes. But we did it in airtight packages and We used it two months later and it was fine. Wrights Applewood smoked bacon is what you want.

I stock up on bacon when I find a good sale and freeze the unopened packages. It works well but the bacon does take a little time to defrost in the refrigerator.

When I take the time to do it, I like having 2-3 pieces wrapped in plastic wrap in a big zip lock bag.

Takes no time to defrost and you don't have to thaw out more than you need.

We freeze portions of 2-4 pieces of bacon. Once bacon hit $9-$11 a package, we started freezing as we did not use a pack quickly once opened.
