Chris Specialty Meats usually carries it if you are in BR or NO.

Make sure you soak it in milk before cooking.

You can get Riceland or Country Boy brand Alligator meat in just about any grocery store freezer section, including Walmarks. It's something I've recently started noticing.

I'm not an expert, but just sharing what I've read here on other threads, which is to soak at least a few hours or over night. It takes away the gamey taste.
You can use milk or buttermilk I believe.

Nuclear option - Use chicken and lie

reason for soaking is to kill some of the gamey taste. Tenderizes as well in my experience

Tony's seems to always have frozen gator both cutup and whole. The whole are about 3' long. That's also a reliable source of turtle meat. Their turnover is pretty high, so I've never found any freezer burn
I've tried frying a small amount for out-of-state visitors. Cut into bite-size strips, pound, soak in butter milk overnight, salt, pepper, flour & fry. That's the same as I cook chicken hearts.

Does anyone sell it ground? I have a gator sausage recipe that I would like to test out.

Most grocery stores in the frozen food section or seafood section. Rouses for sure.

i ordered a whole tail from one of those websites before and it was good. Was a little pricey, but not terrible, maybe $120 for a medium-small size tail. I've also bought a pack of tail meat strips from albertsons freezer section before and it was good too.

…and tenderize it. Makes a big difference.
ETA: Beat it with a tenderizer mallet.
