Early friends giving kind. All medium size people and I have a 5lb ny strip roast and a half rack of beef ribs. Do I need more?

Definitely early for Thanksgiving 2025. Half rack of beef ribs doesn't sound like much for 10 people but with the strip and sides/bread, I'm sure no one will be complaining.

I would say the steak alone is enough with sides desserts apps etc.

OK, but how much do they eat?

Your 5lb roast will likely shrink to around 4lbs. But with the roast and around 3.5-4lbs for the beef ribs you will probably be OK.

Friends christmas. The ribs are large ish but not Dino. Don’t have 10 bone/ribs so pretty awkward.

I'll assume that 5 lb. strip roast is boneless, and like mentioned, it will shrink and lose some weight from cooking. Beef ribs are mostly bone weight.

So yeah, maybe a good portion of grilled or roasted vegetables or maybe a twice baked potato casserole with a nice tossed salad, croutons, dressing and a few types of rolls or bread and you should be good to go.

Should be just enough. .5 - 1 lb per person

Seems light to me. I always cook to have leftovers so I dont have guest wishing they had more. Seven pound strip roast would be ideal.

That's enough with other dishes and booze flowing. Unless you have a few who can really chow down, I'd think you're good.
