How to freeze Pints of oysters?

Saw pints on sale for $10. Not bad for the current prices. Wanted to stock up and freeze a few. Had plans of just freezing the containers as bought. Will they be good for frying, chargrilling, and gumbo after thawing? Thanks for the help.

If they are in their liquor/water they will absolutely freeze fine. You can fry, chargrill and use for gumbo with no issue.
I have been doing this every year for the last decade.
When defrosting just put pint in fridge until thawed.

What he said.
Best use if for soups, gumbos, sauces, dressings.
If you freeze them, leave enough room in the packaging that when the liquid freezes it won't force open the lid. I'd put them in a ziplock quart freezer bag and leave enough room for expansion of the liquid.

1) Open freezer door
2) Place oysters inside said freezer
3) Close freezer door

Freeze in containers just as you buy them in their own liquor. They will do just fine-just take your time thawing and you can cook anyway you like. Let them thaw a day in icebox. If you thaw them fast they will get a bit mushy. They freeze as good as shrimp.

That's an excellent price

As stated, make sure you pour out some of the liquor or as it freezes and expands it will push the top open and you'll get freezer burn/crystalization/

They should be fine at that price I bet they have been frozen before.
