Its a NOLA.com article, and these are in no particular order but rather subgroupings:

"Unforgettable Upscale Dining Experiences:"
Brennan's
Commander's Palace
Emeril's
Dakar
MaMou
Saint-Germain

"Only in New Orleans, Upscale Traditional"
Brigsten's
Clancy's
Dooky Chase's
Galatoire's

"Only in New Orleans, Casual traditional"
High Hat
Lil Dizzy's
Liuzza's by the Track
Rosedale

"Modern Upscale"
Coquette
GW Fins
N7
Peche
Palm & Pine
Toups
Zasu

"Global Flavors"
Acamaya
Addis
Alma
Costera
Jewel of the South
Mister Mao
Saffron

"Outside the City"
Mosca's
Siether's

Interesting list in a lot of ways. Thoughts? Notable places left off or should be added?

Friend,

Mosca’s is not among the top ten best Italian restaurants in the Metro. Impastato’s remains firmly planted at #1 on that list and any such list that does not include America’s finest Creole Italian restaurant is ridiculous. And Seither’s?

His casual New Orleans completely misses the mark as well. Kenner Seafood, Harbor Seafood, Parkway Bakery, and Castnet Seafood fit the bill more so than the four listed.

Yours,
TulaneLSU

Agreed

I don't get it. I have a good time at Moscas but the food is certainly nothing special and its so remote its not worth it

well he did say outside the city. I always think these lists are suspect and hinge on advertising dollars.

Going to Zasu tomorrow then maybe Revel nextdoor for drinks after. Menu looks great, hope it lives up.

Yeah that seems like a pretty major one to leave off

Nothing surprising but I honestly would have Gonzo’s on there under outside the city. I’d also put Yakuza House on there somewhere.

One notable thing about this list and a win for TD…no Mason Hereford owned spots named.

Never understood the love for this place. The mafia stories are the only thing that keeps it afloat.

I've always felt it was overrated. I understand that people love it for nostalgic reasons, but it's pretty mediocre. Appears I'm not the only one.

I would've included Bayona and/or Rosedale.
