Meat Markets In The Baton Rouge Area!

A couple of the better!
I like Bergerons on Port Allen, Hwy 415. Their Lunch Specials are some of the best around! The Sausage, Andouille and Tasso make some of the best Gumbos and Jambalaya's. Be sure and try the Chicken Crackling's!
Bergeron's
Another is Riverside Market! If you stop there, be sure to get the Pork w/jalapeño/cane syrup Sausage! They too do a great job with Chicken Cracklings!

I’m a big fan of Bergeron’s. The plate lunches and smoked boudin are great.
Cutrer’s is at the Main Street Market every Saturday. Their smoked pork sausage is my go-to for beans, gumbo, jambalaya, etc. LINK /
Iverstine’s is good, albeit a little pricey. The Meatatory in Prairieville has some unique sausages - they make a breakfast sausage w Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I dunno what is going on with the place. I was there the other day for the first time in a while and I noticed that half of the store was reselling Nikes.

Who doesn’t want to stare at used shoes while buying meat??

It was kind of wild. Before, they had all kinds of unique sauces, barbecue rubs (even had Meat Church products). Every time I went, they would have more and more items. Now, they had about half of that. But if you wanted some Air Force Ones in Mardi Gras colors, you were set.

That does not sound good, I got a gift card I need to use before all I can buy with it is second hand shoes

Could you give more info? What did they do that upset you?

The Cadillac Café was a good meat market, but it has closed.

I don’t foresee meatatory making it
They sell the dinners you can buy to feed the family that are really good though

Benoit’s in Addis. Great Boudin, stuffed chickens, chicken cracklin, jerky, smoked & fresh sausage, andouille, plate lunches, etc.

Did it smell like Meat or Feet in there?

Tramonte's in BR does not get mentioned much on here. I think they have some pretty good stuff.

That is so bizarre. This time last year, I was itching to go out there and try it because they had so many awesome looking products.
I wonder what made them change? My brother was in there nearly weekly and they seemed to get plenty business per him.

Keeping a box of Tramonte's frozen hamburger patties in the freezer is great for a throwdown midweek dinner or an impromptu barbecue. shite, now I know what I'm going to cook this weekend.

Pretty sure those are knockoffs.
We only went once but the guy we encountered wasn't all that friendly. We almost left without ordering anything.

Maybe not what you were thinking, but
If anyone was in search of pork belly, scallans on airline is great.
When I say pork belly I mean the whole belly, not all neatly cut like Costco.
Good stuff.
