Not sure Walt. Probably Bush's and/or Showboat

The building is being converted into a hot pot and Korean barbecue restaurant that will open in early 2025.
Well this is good to know. I was commenting in another thread how there has been no movement at the building. But if it’s still basically a year out then it makes sense.

Isn't there a poster on here that owns that place?

That ownership group sold out years ago.

My understanding was guy X owned both locations. Then he sold one location to an employee and opened that weird podnuhs bar and grill near bluebonnet.
Then guy X closed the bar and grill and bought back the second location. Used to see him at the Florida location all the time.
No clue if this is correct, but it’s what I had always thought/been told.

I remember the Hoppers getting the BR ones back maybe 10 -12 years so years ago. Not sure if they are still affiliated though.

Florida Blvd is still open and the beans are still amazing.
Ate there for lunch today. Still the best baked beans I've ever had. Tastes exactly like they did when I was a kid and eating there 35 years ago.

They sold it and bought it back somewhere around 2008 or 2010 it seems like.
I don't have their recipe but would love it if anyone has it.

A close second to Danken Trail for me.

Was surprised to see it closed the other day. Good food but likely the absolute dirtiest restaurant in town. It was only a matter of time.

I wonder how long before Florida Blvd. location shuts down. I make a road trip over there because their prices for bbq are reasonable. Sadly it’s hit and miss what they will be out of even early in the day. Last time I went no ribs or chicken available at 1:00. Workers are nice but owner must not want to buy much inventory.
