Just got back from DC last month.

I have a thread here. Moon Rabbit was the highlight this time.

I liked Old Ebbit last time a lot. Still haven't done Minibar. It's $275pp minimum.
Old ebbit does have an incredible oyster selection. They also do chargrilled with Tasso and it's really good.

Old Ebbet is a cool vibe and good food

Founding Farmers and Farmers Fishers Bakers are great, especially for breakfast/brunch.

We enjoyed Clyde's in Georgetown. Old school dive with good pub food

We went in June. Reveler's Hour was a really good small place. St. Anselm was also really good, but on the pricey side.

Tosca for Italian

Rasika for Indian food

Zaytinya for Mediterranean food.

Blue Duck Tavern

Old Ebbits Grill is an old historic place with good food and a nice bar.

Good Stuff Eatery has one of the best burgers I have had. It's a Spike Mendelsohn restaurant. Always packed. He also owns We the Pizza.

If someone only has one night in DC the recommendation is Old Ebbits. It’s the whole package when it comes to the DC experience.
I cannot think of another place I would recommend above it as far as an overall experience.
Enjoy.

If you have a car and get a chance take a drive on Embassy Row. It’s really cool.

Sitting at the bar at Blue Duck Tavern now. Had the burger (very good) and the mashed potato "french fries". Also very good. Good atmosphere. I'd also recommend it.

I'd put the Carlyle in Arlington up against anything in DC. Lived there for 4 years.

I agree. There is a series of “farmers” restraints that are the same company but have different names. The menus are slightly different.

Old Ebitt grill is also good.

Now I'm sitting at Old Ebbitt Grill! Great atmosphere (even if touristy). Oysters were good and 1/2 dz was $15 during happy hour. Another good rec.

It is now 2025. Surely there are more interesting restaurants in Washington DC for a visitor than Founding Farmers. Go to Fiola.

I said Fiola/ Fiola mare brah. Tip tier food and all the intrigue of a DC “scene.” Founding Farmers is fine for a lunch or something but I wouldn’t make it some destination restaurant.
